  75. The bibliographic files are in "bib" format, which can be used with
  76. the Scribe formatting program, or indirectly with *roff, tex, and
  77. latex via the cite filter. "bib" format files may also be used
  78. directly with bibtex in the LaTeX system. "refer" format files may
  79. converted to "bib" format through refconvert. Finally, the
  80. bibliographic files may be managed, search, and modified through
  81. bibdb. Source and man pages for these programs, as well as some 22
  82. bibliographic databases (including database.bib and time.bib)
  83. containing over 6000 entries, are located in bib-cite.tar.Z, which
  84. should be transferred in binary mode with ftp and subsequently
  85. uncompressed and untared, using the Unix commands
  86.
